An Ode to Poem Cook

We barely have anything in common except for...
our mutual distaste for gossip and
our mutual flair for 2 am epiphanies.

Your smile serene; speech without inhibition,
Tales of your unwavering strength can fill up diaries.
All of my sporadic attempts at hibernation
are futile in the face of your "lets meet?" inquiries.

Come what may,
You are here to stay;
You will have that smile on your face 
and a sweet treat to keep sadness at bay.
